5-time NBA MVP Michael Jordan made an estimated $110M last year – that’s $30M more than any other active or retired athlete (that’s you Peyton and LeBron).
According to a recent survey that tracks consumer sentiments, Jordan is the most marketable individual in the United States, ahead of Oprah, Tom Hanks, Taylor Swift and every other celebrity or influencer you can think of. He has an awareness level of 98% which is amazing since most millennials haven’t even seen Jordan play “live” given he retired 13 years ago.
Yet, he remains extremely relevant.
Jordan is part owner of the Charlotte Hornets, owns seven restaurants and a car dealership and is brand ambassador for Nike, Gatorade and Five Star Fragrances. Oh yea – there’s also that viral “Crying Jordan” meme.
Jordan’s signature shoe line with Nike sold 18 times as many pairs as Steph Curry’s Under Armour shoes.
Curry is dazzling fans with his incredible talent and Jordan is still dazzling Madison Avenue.
