A new #IStayHomeFor campaign kicked off to encourage people to stay home and create social posts of themselves with a sign showing the name of someone they are trying to keep safe from the Covid-19 virus.
As we all know, Bacon is just “six degrees away from any of us” so it was a clever pick to make him the face of this awareness campaign.
Aside from the creative angle, the campaign is effective because it emphasizes and humanizes the concept that everyone of us has someone worth staying home for.
Bacon wrote his wife Kyra Sedgwick on a chalkboard and tagged other celebrities including Jimmy Fallon, Elton John, Kevin Hart and Demi Lovato – with other celebrities jumping in.
This is an example of a very good (and quickly created) awareness campaign utilizing a celebrity in a compelling way.
