Good looking = Great endorser?

Last week, a study by Nielsen generated a lot of buzz by stating that Liam Neeson, Pierce Brosnan and Matthew McConaughey were the top three most likable endorsers.

Now, don’t get me wrong – likability is important when brands are assessing potential spokespersons. However the crucial criteria for selecting an endorser is determining whether the celebrity authentically aligns with the brand.

Is the celebrity relatable to the targeted demographics?  Does the celebrity embody the values of the brand?  Is the endorser currently relevant?

These are the important questions to ask when assessing a spokesperson.  But good looks and likeability goes along way too!
