Research shows that consumers expect companies to support a variety of causes.

Therefore, many brands are currently incorporating “good works” in their marketing campaigns and partnering with celebrities to spotlight those efforts.

A great example of an effective pairing is Ford providing $25,000 worth of instruments to veterans through the Guitars 4 Vets organization which promotes the use of music as a therapeutic tool for PTSD. Luke Combs appeared in a spot broadcast last night during The Country Music Awards which shows him meeting with one of the military recipients and providing a personalized guitar lesson.

It’s a feel good program and Combs was a smart choice to showcase this effort to honor and support the men and women of our military.

My only comment is $25,000 feels a bit light.  Although Ford is involved in other projects supporting the military (which is always appreciated!) the donation amount probably could have been more substantial.
